Each piece begins with the material: its texture, colour and natural character. In our workshop between Postira and Dol, master stonemason Željka Frančeski combines traditional skills with contemporary design.

Kameni Otok Since 2010

Sixteen years of making, learning and working with Brač stone. Željka founded Kameni otok in 2010 after studying at the Stonemasonry School in Pučišća. She earned her master stonemason qualification in 2022.

The business holds recognition as a traditional and artistic craft. The workshop is also home to Journey Through Stone, where visitors meet the maker and try the craft themselves.

Croatian Island Product (HOP)

Kameni otok’s jewellery and useful stone objects have received the Croatian Island Product label, known as HOP. The Journey Through Stone experience also carries this recognition.

Carving The HOP Plaques

Our workshop has also made stone HOP plaques for official award ceremonies. Through these commissions, Brač stone and our craft become part of the recognition given to other island producers.
